Administrative Structures
The School is headed by the Principal and assisted by the Deputy Principal.
SoHM is driven by team spirit, and the following officers are always available to help the students at any time:

Academic Registrar
Legal Mandate
The mandate is derived from the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001, as amended. Section 84 (2) states: "There shall be a Registrar who shall be Secretary to the Academic Board and its Committees."

Location
The School is located in Nkoma, Mbale behind Islamic University Uganda-Mbale Main campus, 1km off Mbale - Kumi Road from a junction which is 3km from Mbale town.
Mbale Town is situated at the foothills of the Masaba Hills, which is part of the Mt. Elgon Mountain ranges. The school is located at the highest part of Mbale town.
New students and visitors are cautioned that Mbale-Kumi Road is part of the Northern great road (from Capetown to Cairo) is therefore a busy road. Students are advised to be careful when crossing this road.
Security
SoHM is mostly a secure place but management recommends vigilance and information sharing where you detect problems. Valuables should never be left unattended.
Accommodation and Meals
The school has both male and female students' hostels with a total of 320 beds. All rooms are shared, there are no single rooms. All government admitted students reside inside the school.
There is a canteen in which items of necessity like soap, toothpaste, slippers, Vaseline are available for sale.
For meals, there is the Dining Hall located within the School complex. There is an approved menu that the catering department implements.
Places of Worship
A variety of places of worship are situated within the School and short distance (a range of 1 - 5 kms) from the School. They include:
- Main stream Christians Churches (Catholic Churches, and Anglican Churches)
- Pentecostal churches (Pentecostal Assemblies of God, Deliverance Church, Seventh day Adventist Church)
- Moslem Mosques
- Hindu temples
Clinic
SoHM has a Clinic run by two fulltime staff; a Clinical Officer and a Nurse who provide first aid and basic treatment. Major treatments are referred to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH).
Students with chronic medical cases/problems should notify the Medical Staff as soon as they report for effective management.
Discipline
SoHM students are known for their highest level of professional and ethical discipline. Regular class attendance, academic participation, and smartness are some of the aspects of discipline.
